Knotts Island (originally from April 15, 2020)

With everything being closed, lately I’ve been turning to nature. While the stay-at-home order definitely puts a halt to our typical daily lives, it also makes room for something different. Usually I’d be caught up in work and my daily schedule, but since I was a server before all this started I have a lot of time to do what I usually wouldn’t. While everything else might be cancelled the great outdoors is not.

I’ve been trying to get outside as much as possible lately to keep my sanity and to keep the stir-crazy away. I’ve recently started exploring Knotts Island, North Carolina- right over the Virginia border. My fiance found this area due to a work trip and showed me. And it is a gem!

It’s secluded and has wildlife everywhere. It’s a beautiful, quiet drive for a weekend afternoon. The road has water on both sides, so you’re bound to see an abundance of reptiles and birds.

And apart from the beautiful scenery and wildlife aspect, it is also a fun trip for the puppers. Miska loved splashing in the water, fetching sticks, and smelling all the new smells!
